Happy New Year from Marpo
Kinetics!
2008 has been full of exciting developments for us: from a
successful launch of the
VMX multi-mode climber to
a wide range of enthusiastic adopters, including some of the
most demanding and performance-oriented clients in the
world. Among them, the likes of US Navy SEALS, professional
football teams from the NFL, top-notch collegiate wrestling
teams, and professional rugby teams. All of them demand
equipment that provides challenge, versatility and
durability during the most taxing workout routines.
We recently had a chance to see one such customer in action
- the wrestling team at the US Military Academy at West
Point. Our curiosity was spiked when we saw a video (see
link below) of one of the team members, Whitt Dunning,
trying to beat his own personal record on the
V250 weight-assist climber
that the team purchased after trying it at the US Olympic
Trials.
After seeing
the video, we caught up with Coach Barbee
and asked him a few questions:
MK: What was the deciding factor in your
purchase decision?
Barbee: I took a test run on each of
the three units and was very impressed with
the exercise variety and the challenge that
the V250 offered and liked the idea that it
could be used by people of all sizes.
MK: How do you incorporate V250 into your
strength and conditioning program?
Barbee: Individually guys on our team
use it daily to supplement the strength
training; we also incorporate it into any
circuits that we may setup in the wrestling
room for conditioning. Since we have the
V250 we use the weight stack to set up a
pull that athletes should fail anywhere
within 45 seconds to 2 minutes.
MK: How is the feedback from the team?
Barbee: The team likes the unit very
much, the feedback has been very good and
most guys are always excited/scared to get
on it each day.
We expect 2009 to bring many more fans like
Coach Barbee and his team. Not everyone will
be as demanding of themselves as Whitt
Dunning but the versatility and flexibility
of our rope climbers should keep everyone
engaged, fit and entertained.
Best Wishes for 2009!
