Since Viper's introduction almost 2 year ago, we have been
receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers
and users. We would like to share with you some of their
experiences through our new Xv
newsletter designed to explore the possibilities that
this machine can offer to athletes and gym operators. We will try to tell you about customers whose
experiences with the Viper are truly unique, educational, or simply entertaining.

Team LP's BIG RED |
|
|
|
In this
first issue, we would like to tell you about probably the
most passionate, and the most innovative fan of the Viper - Lawrence Phillips (LP),
trainer and owner of the
Team
LP Fitness Studio Playground in Santa Rosa, California. |

LP with "BIG RED" |
LP bought the Viper after trying it at the IHRSA trade show
in March of 2007. "I liked it right away," explains LP, "our studio has all
the athletic conditioning
'toys' and Viper looked like it would fit it with the type of equipment that we have and with the
philosophy of what we teach at our studio." |
|
After having the Viper for about 5 months, LP boasts an
arsenal of 20-25 different Viper exercises, for cardio,
strength, and circuit training. "Our members really enjoy
the diversity and the variety of what I make the Viper to
be. It's not just a rope-climbing machine; we use it for
many different workouts. It's always something new,
something innovative."
Some of the exercises that LP
has developed, and shared with us, involve removing the seat
(originally intended for wheelchair access), putting a BOSU
balance trainer in front of the machine and having members
sit or squat on it, balancing themselves while pulling the
rope. The seated exercise engages the core muscles, while
the squatting form provides a total-body workout in one
exhausting exercise, as we found out when we attempted these
exercises at Marpo Kinetics. |

This is hard... |

This is even harder! |

And the
results? "The Big Red is used every day. Our clients love
it; it's one of the most popular pieces in the studio," says
LP. He adds that members really enjoy working out on Viper;
they like the variety of exercises that LP has introduced
and the Viper accommodated. Aside from having fun, members
are noticing the results of their workouts. "They are
definitely, definitely satisfied with the results.
Especially men - they can see a big difference in their
arms, shoulders, and core."
As far as the custom color: "Red is an energy color. It's
powerful," says LP. "And rope climbing is a challenging
exercise, so when members get on this machine, we want them
to be motivated, to be aggressive."
