USMA WRESTLING USING MARPO KINETICS ROPE CLIMBER
The United States Military Academy (USMA) Wrestling team is always
looking for an edge in training, and toward that goal recently added a
V250 weight-assist rope climber from Marpo Kinetics to its fitness
training area.
“We are a division 1 wrestling program and we must maintain a very high
level of fitness,” says USMA Wrestling Coach Chuck Barbee. “We use a
variety of equipment in circuit-style workouts, from small apparatus,
such as dumb-bells and plyometric pieces to treadmills and rope
climbers.”
Coach Barbee points out that he is always looking for new equipment that
can fit into the wrestling fitness room.
“I was at the Olympic wrestling trials and I saw the V250 at the vendor
booth there and was able to try it out,” he explains. “And with the
weight assist, counter-weight feature, I thought it would fit nicely
into our circuit and challenge the guys individually and in group
workouts.”
The V250 weight-assist rope climber simulates actual rope climbing,
enabling users to achieve full upper-body strength and cardio workout
with only one exercise. The V250 offers a wide variety of exercises that
target a user’s entire body. It allows users to exercise sitting or
kneeling on the seat, or removing the seat altogether (with the
quick-release feature) and exercising from a standing position or from a
wheelchair. It can also be used in reverse, i.e. pulling the rope up
instead of pulling down.
“We’ve had a good response from the team so far and it really seems
durable and is easy to use,” adds Barbee. |
